Dear Educational Leader,
I am directing this letter
to you because we have something in common. We have both made a commitment
to educate, nurture and protect the children who have been entrusted to
us. After thirty-four years of working in various situations and under
various conditions within the educational field, I have come to the conclusion
that unless we pay close attention to the environment in which our children
learn, the quality of life of the children we serve can be compromised.
I talk primarily about the
cleaning products we use. Harmless in appearance and not so harmless after
investigation, the cleaning products cause irritations and discomforts
that hinder learning. I have had the opportunity to replace the caustic
cleaning products used to maintain this school sanitized and clean with
a product called 105-MC, Mighty Micros of the Bio-Science Environmental
Services and Laboratory, Inc. This product is natural, organic and is
refreshing and smells good when used in the indoor environment.
After several months of using
this product, our students were less likely to report to the nurse's office
with asthma issues or respiratory problems. We have used it liberally
throughout the school and the odors have begun to disappear. Although
no empirical data has yet been collected, I know we have all noticed a
difference in the air quality of our closed environment.
I am not receiving anything
from this endorsement. I approach you because, I believe that we must
share the good things we discover that help our children. Please accept
this letter from a colleague who tries to make a difference.
Sincerely,
Anna Salamone Consoli
Educational Administrator
